Thyroid-Multinodular goiter This enlarged thyroid was derived from a patient with hyperthyroidism caused by iodine deficiency. Cut surface of the thyroid shows multiple cystic nodules containing brown gelatinous colloids with signs of congestion and cystic degeneration. The presence of multiple nodules within the thyroid caused the outer layer of thyroid capsule to have smooth but nodular capsular surface.
