P027 Colon- Liquefactive necrosis
คำอธิบายชิ้นเนื้อ
Colon-Liquefactive necrosis This gross specimen of the large intestine shows liquefactive necrosis under the mucosa and submucosa. There are presence of multiple abscess filled with hemorrhage and necrotic tissue causing disruption of the muscularis mucosa layer as can be seen in the arrow. Liquefactive necrosis is a type of necrosis that can occur in only a few organs such as the intestine as a result from infection by bacteria and/or some specific fungal infection. Infection by these microbes stimulate polymorphonuclear leukocytes in an acute inflammatory process leading to accumulation of abscess overtime.
