Soft tissue Lipoma Lipoma is a benign tumor composed of adipose tissue. It is one of the most common soft tissue tumor of adulthood. Lipoma usually arises in the subcutaneous layer of the proximal extremities and trunk. The tumor mass is soft, mobile and painless which are cured by surgical removal. Gross morphology shows homogeneous yellowish mass of adipose tissue with well-circumscribed smooth border that are encapsulated by fibrous capsule.
