P005 Cervix- Invasive squamous cell carcinoma

Squamous cell carcinoma of cervix is one of the most common gynaecological malignancies. Squamous cell carcinoma accounts for more than 70% of the cervical malignancies. Common cause of this malignancy is persistent infection with carcinogenic types of human papilloma virus (HPV). Gross morphology show uterus, endometrium of uterus and cervix. At the cervix, brownish irregular and infiltrative mass invade to endocervix. Some area of irregular mass show necrosis with associated with nearby tissue destruction from cancer invasion.
